Kids' Cooking

http://www.wirralfoodfestival.co.uk/upload///1281544814-kids_cooking.jpgChefs Adopt A School are once again pleased to be involved with the Wirral Food & Drink Festival, in partnership with Claremont Farm.

Last year we successfully ran adult and child cookery sessions throughout each day of the show, and we again plan to do similar activities. Having young children and parents or guardians working together learning kitchen skills is great fun, and encourages a better understanding of foods and tastes for a healthier diet.

We shall be doing cookery workshops as follows

Sunday 29th August
11.00am No more McDonalds or Burger King, become the household BURGER CHAMP! Knowing what goes into your own burgers and having fun making them, a typical children`s favourite.

1.00pm A family favourite takeaway! Chicken Chow Mein.......how to feed a family a tasty home-made take away for a fraction of the cost. And it`s healthy!

3.00pm “PIZZA THE ACTION”!! Come and make your own pizza for taking home to cook. This is another family favourite that takes in all our healthy food groups.

Monday 30th August
11.00am lets look at a healthy start to the day........a nutritious and healthy BREAKFAST! Come and try some great ideas for a great British breakfast.

1.00pm Curry in a hurry! Wow, how do we do that! One of our favourite take away flavours to get you all fired up in a kitchen with the children!

3.00pm Pasta Party! Everyone loves a pasta dish of some sort, come and see it being made and make a tasty meal!

All the sessions will have limited spaces to allow full audience participation, so book early for whatever session you prefer. We shall be asking for a small charge of £1.50 per person to cover ingredient costs, and will also provide each attendee with a cookery book with all the recipes being covered over the 2 days.

All bookings prior to the start of the event should be done by email to mcoles.CAAS@foodnw.co.uk stating the day and session activity you wish to participate in. Please note, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We look forward to seeing you all and having FUN WITH FOOD!
